Blue Mountains Cultural Centre – showcasing our unique artistic life, our world heritage environment and culture in a remarkable cultural precinct.
A place offering fluid interaction between art, culture and townscape.
The Blue Mountains Cultural Centre is proposed to open in 2011 and is part of the Parke Street Development, Katoomba.
The Development will feature a World Heritage Interpretive Centre, Regional City Art Gallery, new public library, a theatrette, multi-purpose workshops, public art courtyards, gallery shop and café, undercover parking and a retail development including a Coles Supermarket.
The project, on the former TAFE site in Katoomba, is a collaborative enterprise between the Council, the State Government and the Coles Group. Council’s aim is to develop a landmark building featuring public art, environmentally sustainable design principles and state of the art technology. It will provide a community and cultural meeting place and inject fresh life into Katoomba.
